Method of Preparation

Wet the Puttu Podi with sufficient quantity of water and salt. Keep aside for 10 minutes and then mix well, add coconut gratings and steam. Method: After the steam is visible on the upper end of the puttu maker, never continue to steam the puttu more than 5 minutes as the softness of the puttu will be lost.

  • a) To make sweet puttu, add sugar instead of salt.
  • b) For even softer puttu, mix the puttu podi in mixer.
